Owen played well across every stage in his first year of full-eligibility. Scored a respectable 5.9 on the rocks, didn’t drag his team down in golf, may have biked well, but who knows since that team came in last by more than 6 minutes, and did his best in the hoops final against an unstoppable Hadj. With a year of college and countless hours of gym-time playing nothing but hoops, he will be harder to stop – and with no Hadj this year, as Owen pointed out during a game of 21 this morning, basketball is wide open. Number 1 overall pick? Probably. Repeat champion? Too soon to tell. Basketball and climbing propelled Team Mike into the overall win last year (along with a 1st in golf), but he will need the right golfing teammates to win again.
